How to Make Money from Online Paid Surveys

Many of us would you like to get paid for giving our opinions. By signing up to an online surveys website this is entirely possible but it is important to realise that not all survey sites are entirely reputable. Whilst earnings will not be substantial, they can certainly help in augmenting your income in these difficult times if you know what you are doing and have a little patience.

You can give your opinions through an online questionnaire which will be sent to you or in some cases through an online focus group in a chat room. In general, all surveys should be anonymous. If you are asked to give personal details, don`t participate unless the site in question has a clear privacy policy. Sadly, some sites lure unsuspecting consumers with the promise of paid surveys but in fact use them as a means of harvesting personal data for junk mailing purposes - or worse!

Once you have identified a reputable site, simply sign up and you`ll be sent questionnaires to do online. The survey site will then add any cash you earn to your account until you have reached the threshold level. They can pay up to a few pounds per survey though many will only pay pence so you will need to do quite a few to earn significant sums. However, many will fun to do and you could be asked quite literally about anything. And there is no right or wrong answer.

If you are required to pay a fee up front to participate, don`t. There are plenty of sites out there which don`t require you to pay and indeed the good ones are free. If they want a fee it`s probably a scam.

To optimise your chances of making money, it makes sense to sign up to as many free survey sites as you can. The more you take part the better your earnings potential, important given the cash on offer per questionnaire.

Something else to note is the screen out. You will find you may be screened out after a few questions for which you will not be paid. It happens. You will also find that many sites have a minimum threshold before they will pay which means you might have to do quite a few surveys before you reach the payout threshold. Best to check this out when you sign up. And remember to take your money out when you reach the payout threshold. Payment will normally be made through a Paypal account or through vouchers for High St retailers.

You really want to look for as many sites as you can with high payment rates and low minimum thresholds. That way you have easy access to your money and are rewarded well for participation. It is something of a balancing act as low payment rates mean there is more chance of being asked to participate at a higher frequency. The choice of strategy is yours.

One final tip: do read the terms and conditions very carefully. Whilst you won`t make your fortune from paid surveys, if you know what you are doing you can earn more than pocket money and getting paid for expressing your opinions can be an enjoyable way in which to generate some additional cash.
